St. Cathedral Church

Basilica of Bom Jesus
Built in honor of infant Jesus, this church was built in 1695 in Baroque architectural style. It is beautifully decorated with inlay work and frescoes. The stunning façade boasts of basalt embellishments which makes it one of the most beautiful churches of the state. It is recognized as a World Heritage Site.
Churchof MaryImmaculate Conception
Attracting tourists in large numbers, this church houses a bell which is second largest in the world. It was the first church of the state which was built in 1541. It is beautifully lit at night.
Churchof St. Francisof Assissi
Built in the 16th century, this church has an educational institution. The interiors of the church display beautiful paintings of Hindu temple structures. The church reflects the perfect combination of Tuscan and Mosaic-Corinthian architectural styles.
